The Araniko Project brings forth the infograph of record of Song Tao’s exchanges with political parties and leaders of Nepal between 2015 - 2022. Song Tao will be replaced by Liu Jianchao as the new head of the International Liason Department of the Communist Party of China (ID-CPC). The department looks at CPC’s party-to-party relations with foreign political parties and leaders.

We compiled the list from ID-CPC’s official website’s list of meetings with foreign affairs. For this list, we ignored regional meetings and only focused on one on one meetings with political parties or their leaders.

Here is a brief summary (between 2015 - 2022) followed by the infograph:

  • ID - CPC had held over 14 official meetings with Nepali political parties. The highest is with CPN (Maoist)- 5 followed by CPN (UML)-3, and Nepali Congress - 1;

  • In terms of South Asia, ID-CPC had held meetings with Pakistan’s political parties and leaders 15 times, compared to Nepal 14, Sri Lanka 8, Bangladesh 7, and Indi…
